He may be 80 yrs. old, but seems to have more spark in him than McCain displays while addressing a crowd or in a TV interview. I look forward to hearing more from Mr. Pickens and what direction he actually goes for the future. - Tim N.

This week Pickens launched a major campaign to wean the country off imported oil. Swimming in cash, Pickens plans to spend $58 million selling this idea during the current presidential campaign. Barack Obama's proposed 10-year, $150-billion alternative-energy research plan and John McCain's idea of spending $300 million on new nuclear plants pale come quite a bit short of that. Said Pickens "These candidates do not understand the question. They don't understand how critical this all is."

T. Boone Pickens is currently the chairman and CEO of BP Capital, which operates energy focused commodity and equity funds. He is also the largest shareholder in Clean Energy, the largest provider of vehicular natural gas (CNG and LNG) in North America with a broad customer base in the refuse, transit, shuttle, taxi, police, intrastate and interstate trucking, airport and municipal fleet markets.
